How can I love music without getting in debt?

I really love music of all genres and styles, and I mean ALL styles. But I recently looked at my bank account balance to find I had spent way too much on music downloads and CDs. How can I still listen to great music from different genres without going bankrupt or going all illegal??? Thanks a lot. Jonny

  1. start a band & play your own
  2. I was gonna suggest the illegal way...but failing that I guess radio's pretty much the only option, you can listen to radio online really easily these days. Addition: Or of course you could start a band and play your own, or you could make sure you only ever buy CDs that are bargains. It might be worth checking out lists such as these: http://musicchain.net/entry/RS-500-Greatest-Albums-of-All-Time http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1001_Albums_You_Must_Hear_Before_You_Die and then buying whatever you find for under a fiver. Happy listening :D
  3. http://www.pandora.com/ it's an online radio station that lets you stream any kind of genre you want for free! I love it because it lets me listen to artists I otherwise would have never heard if I hadn't gone there! =)
  4. Playlist.com is a website where you can search any song and listen to it for free.
  5. listen to the radio
  6. Just listen to songs on myspace or purevolume. Sometimes the band's even let you download a song for free from their profiles.
  7. Youtube, slacker.com (great free internet radio), barrow an Burn CD's from friends.....
  8. I guess last fm.>> http://www.last.fm/ Or just borrow CD's from your friends, Or even rip it right from their ipods. You can even hire CD's from the library for cheap, and put them on your computer. I guess those are all illegal. But not in the same way as downloading. hah, well, you wont get caught anyway. If none of the above, I'd suggest downloading illegally, Or just paying for it.
  9. mp3rocket.com is 19.99 and then u get as many downloads on as many bands/shows/ or anything else u can find
  10. hi go to your library they have all sorts of music you can borrow some for a small fee take them home burn them, take em back job done.
  11. You need to try out MP3Lingo.com. It is a fairly new service but they are getting really popular. They offer unlimited music downloads for only $2 a month (I don't know how they do it!) and they are 100% legal. I've been with them for some time and they have all the songs I need and their download speeds are fast. Check them out at www.mp3lingo.com when you get a chance.
