I passionately love music and I want to go somewhere with it. What should my next step be?

Im sixteen years old. I love music and Im always playing. The farthest I've gotten is a few talent shows but I want to go somewhere. Please any suggestions. Thank you so much.

1. Well you could do what i am doing and go to a music college or school. There are general music schools and specific instrument one's. I play the guitar at university. They will excel you in the field and help you greatly. You meet the right people too. But it is very time consuming and you must be able to put your whole heart and soul into it.
2. don't go to school for music, if you are as good as you think, then just believe in your self and keep puttting yourself out there. Music school will teach you how to play by the books, stifling your creativity and preventing you from making something totally originally you.
